Signature series
My Signature Series began as an experiment in 2009 and became the cornerstone of my painting aesthetic for the nest ten years. As I strive to create each piece it always becomes a battle between my impatience and my perfectionism. The resulting style allows me to rush in with impatience and then finish as a perfectionist. I quickly block in lots of colour in loose forms. Then my perfectionism take over and I construct strong black lines that constrain the colour, bringing the piece together. The resulting style uses bold colour schemes and combines portraits of humans or animals with abstracted mosaic forms.
